I walked up to the hairdressers yesterday, it wasn't a particularly nice day, but I wanted some fresh air. It's half term, I have escaped my little black box with now windows, I wanted daylight - any daylight. At the moment I only see darkness in the morning when I leave at 7am and then in the evening when I return home at 6pm.
So you can imagine my delight when I saw these little white maidens bobbing their heads in the breeze out side our house, they were finally in flower.

Signs of spring didn't end there...as I walked through our small park to the shops I saw these little darlings poking their heads above the soil .... soon there will be a carpet of crocus in the park...the mice will be delighted !!

As I continued my walk my mind wandered to my youth, nature walks in the woods and fields close to my little village primary school, nature tables, catkins and pussy willow, and the delight of delights, this book which I used to love to pour over ...

There is nothing quite as magical as spring as nature awakens and delights us with its beauty....what a blessing....

Dear Helen, as usual we are on the same wavelength! In these two posts I wrote about the illustrations from the 'What to look for...' books which I too have loved since childhood. My kind family have noticed the gap on my shelves and I now own the set once again. They are really lovely. Enjoy the sunny spring. X

I call these little white flowers snow drops and I have a cluster of them in my front yard-they are blooming now. They represent spring to me. I'm so glad it is finally here. Day light is close behind.
